DAMBHODBHAVA MET WITH NARA AND NARAYANA

Lord Parashurama speaks about Nara and Narayana

Lord Krishna in order to create harmony amongst Kauravas and Pandavas gave his superb statements at King's court in front of the Kauravas in Hastinapur and made absolutely everyone speechless. Lord Parashurama had mentioned one small incident of 'Nara' and 'Narayana' assembly with Dambhodbhava in order to signify the authentic divine power of 'Nara' there. In Dwapar era Arjuna is referred to as 'Nara' and Lord Krishna as 'Narayana'. I will write that story here in brief.

Dambhodbhava used to be a mighty ruler of the entire bhumandal. No one matched his energy and strength. Every morning he used to go near many Brahmins and Kshatriyas and ask them, if there was any sudra, basiya, Kshatriya and Brahmin warrior who ought to match his heroism.

Likewise, the king started out roaming around the whole earth considering no one as courageous as him. Seeing him self praising a lot, few fearless Brahmins denied him to do such. However, it didn't have any have an impact on Dambhodbhava. He grew to be so boastful that made some Ascetics truly annoyed. Those Ascetics advised him that about the two top-notch warriors recognized as Nara and Narayana  who had killed many warriors. Along with that they additionally referred to Dambhodbhava that he could never face those warriors.

Out of Curiosity king requested their location. Brahmins mentioned to him that those two Ascetics had reincarnated as human beings and had been practicing rigorous penance and austerities on the Gandhamardhan mountain. After listening to the Brahmins, Dambhodbhava took his large army and went in the direction of the mountain. He discovered two Ascetics who seemed weak out of hunger and thirst.

King offered his prayer to each of them and in a well-mannered way invited those Ascetics for fruits and water. Out of habit, he started doing self-admiration in front of them and wished to combat with those Ascetics.

Nara Narayana told him that there used to be no place for anger and materialism in their hermitage. Both of them asked him to

leave their hermitage and find some other Kshatriya in order to fight. Then they both Consoled the king. However Dambhodbhava did not hear them and dared them repeatedly to fight.

That time incredible Nara took darva in his hand and asked the king to confront him with all his armies. Nara wished to smash his egos considering the fact that Dambhodbhava used to challenge many varna people to battle with him. King agreed and shot many dangerous arrows at him. But these arrows did not harm Nara at all. Nara in return used that darva in opposition to the king and harm him badly. Nara then used darva against the armies and with Maya, he destroyed the eyes, noses, and ears of many soldiers there. Seeing the dynamic power of darva everywhere, the king fell on the feet of Nara and requested him to spare him.

Nara forgave him and warned him not to repeat his mistake. Along with that, he recommended the king to emerge as religious, forgiving, self-restraint, generous, and no longer to underestimate any other kings without understanding his power. this was once how Nara had shown his greatness in front of the king. Narayana is godly than Nara.

Lord Parashurama advised Duryodhana to leave his pride and be friends with Arjuna before he would start using his Gandiva Dhanush towards him. Parashurama  cited him that, "eight divine weapons are made for eight faults acknowledged as 'kama', 'krodha', 'lobha', 'moha', 'mada' and 'Matsarya' and Arjuna is conscious of the usage of all these eight weapons. No one can face up to a fight against a courageous warrior like Arjuna. Whereas Lord Krishna being Narayana is greater than him." Lord Parashurama suggested Duryodhana now not to become the cause of Kauravas' destruction.
