DHARMARAJ TESTED VISVAMITRA, GARUDA LOST HIS WINGS AND SAGE GALAVA GOT HELP FOR REPAYING HIS GURU

Dharmaraj meets Sage Visvamitra, Garuda helps Sage Galava and Sage Yayati offers Madhavi to Sage Galava

I was quite greatly surprised to go thru the tale of Madhavi; daughter of King Yayati. She was once offered via his father to a sage named Galava as an alternative of wealth. The sage, in reality, had to repay his Guru Visvamitra or Viswamitra. Here in this blog post, I will mention how did Sage Galava met with His guru Visvamitra and received assistance from Garuda and King Yayati for repaying his Guru Visvamitra.

Sage Visvamitra and Vashistha were two sages out of seven outstanding sages regarded Saptarishis. Dharmaraj Yama once went to Visvamitra in the form of Sage Vashistha in order to test him. Out of starvation, he wished to have food there. Visvamitra began preparing food immediately. But Dharmaraj could not wait and he consumed meals made by different Ascetics. When Visvamitra offered him food, Dharmaraj denied him by way of saying he had already consumed meals and left the place. After listening to such Visvamitra was stunned. he positioned the meals vessel on his head and consistently stood in front of his hermitage while consuming only air.

Galava sage found Visvamitra there such a state. He dedicated his life to serving Visvamitra there as his guru. After completion of hundred years, Dharmaraj once again got here near Visvamitra in the form of sage Vashistha and noticed Visvamitra standing in front of his hermitage there. Dharmaraj took the food vessel from Visvamitr.  The meals used to be warm as if it was prepared at that time only. Then pleased Dharmaraj ate the food out of it and left the house after blessing Visvamitra.  Visvamitra was satisfied with the sage Galava and Asked him to go anywhere as per his wish. But Galava desired to repay something to his Guru. Visvamitra persistently asked him to leave. But Galava insisted his guru again and again for repaying something. Enraged Visvamitra asked Galava to present him eight hundred white horses who would be having black ears from one side.

In order to repay his Guru, Galava could no longer sleep or consume after that. He knew neither he had any cash nor he had any wealthy pals who could supply him such horses. Being frazzled he decided to end his life. He wished to see Lord Vishnu and noticed Lord's Vahaan Garuda appearing in front of him. Garuda being kind-hearted toward the sage desired to help him in searching for the horses everywhere. Sage Galava sat on the mighty Garuda and went in the direction of East.

On the peak of the mountain, they saw one lady Ascetic named Shandili there. Both of them offered their prayers. Shandili courteously gave them food and asked them to take nap there. They both happily acted accordingly. When Garuda woke up he noticed his divine wings were already gone. Sage Galava asked Garuda if he had thought of any inauspicious for which he had lost his wings. Garuda cited him that he had thought in his mind of taking that lady Ascetic to Lord Brahma, Vishnu, and Maheshwara with whom she surely deserved to stay rather than here on the mountain. Garuda then fell on the feet of Shandili and confirmed to her that he solely thought in her favor only. Garuda requested her forgiveness.

Sandili used to be thrilled at that time and she advised him that he had humiliated her by way of wondering of such in his mind before. However later she forgave him after listening to Garuda's explanations and blessed him to have his divine wings back. Garuda and Sage Galava both left that area without getting any help for the horses. Garuda then counseled Sage Galava to beg for money from his friend King Yayati. King yayati was a beneficent and trustworthy king. Garuda elaborated everything about the Galava and His guru Visvamitra's conversation and requested the king to provide wealth to the sage.

King alas expressed his lack of ability at that time to pay for the compensation to the sage. However, he could in no way commit a sin by sending each of them returned empty-handed. Hence he advised the sage to accept his stunning daughter Madhavi. Additionally, the king referred to him that many kings would even surrender their kingdom as a price for getting Madhavi. Then the king presented his daughter to the sage in order to help him getting the favored number of specified horses from different kings and the king also wished for having grandsons. The sage agreed and left the kingdom with Madhavi.
